A short list of free, reputable places to learn about AI as a teacher, or to find ready-made AI literacy lessons. Links checked October 2026 — providers may change their offerings.

Courses for your own learning

  • Generative AI for Educators with Gemini — Grow with Google. Free, self-paced course of about two hours with practical classroom use cases.
  • AI 101 for Educators — CodeAI (formerly Code.org). No-cost, go-at-your-own-pace course for K–12 teachers on understanding and teaching with AI.
  • AI Fluency for Educators — Anthropic Academy. Free course on using AI assistants such as Claude thoughtfully in teaching.
  • OpenAI Academy — OpenAI. Learning hub with a “teach and learn with AI” track and educator events.

Lessons and classroom resources

  • CRAFT — Stanford Graduate School of Education. Free, classroom-ready AI literacy resources for high school teachers.
  • AI literacy lessons for grades 6–12 — Common Sense Education. Short, ready-to-teach lessons on AI, bias, chatbots and more.
  • MIT RAISE — Massachusetts Institute of Technology. K–12 AI resources including the Day of AI curriculum.
  • AI Pedagogy Project — metaLAB at Harvard. Free guides and assignments for critical and creative uses of AI in education.

Prompting

Most of these resources are designed for international classrooms. Adapt examples to your students’ language and context — and check each platform’s privacy terms before asking students to sign up.
